Inaugural ABSA Conference

Image
Well its certainly hard to get back into the swing of things after spending a few days in Melbourne for the inaugural ABSA Conference, held at the Langham Hotel, Southbank, Melb, Aust. It was great to reaquaint old friendships and meet new friends at the conference welcoming reception, where I definitely should have brought the camera along to capture the amazing light show along the Yarra river. But after two thought provoking and informative days, followed by a meeting of ABSA trainers I almost feel like another holiday is in order...

ABSA Conference - Sustainable Housing... Climate For Change

Not long to go before the exciting ABSA Conference, to be held 28-30 August, 2008 in Melbourne Vic. In response to a widening discussion on climate change and sustainable building practices, the ABSA Conference program is geared towards raising awareness and knowledge of new government policy and leading research in residential building energy efficiency for new and existing housing. International, trans-Tasman and domestic presenters and keynote speakers will share best practices, new initiatives and trends at a strong line-up of workshops, networking events and presentations.

Getting ready for warmer weather

Well the training has all been done... hopefully successfully. Well I passed all the theory exams, just haven't recieved my certificates of attainment yet for AccuRate and BERS Pro software. I've been starting to review what is required to get accredited as an ABSA assessor - something to look forward to after returning back from the US in July. I'm looking forward with catching up with the AUGI BoD again when I travel to the US next week for 2 glorious weeks - hopefully the weather will be warmer than the chilly weather Adelaide has been experiencing this past week, where tempuatures plunged to 1.6C here in the city. It was the coldest morning since the same day last year, when it was 0.2C. brrrrr.... its cold
